In the picturesque village of Cărbuna, Ialoveni district, the Black Bull Festival invites you to discover a celebration of authentic flavors and ancient traditions. This unique event perfectly blends history, local culture, and gastronomy, offering a memorable experience for all visitors.

Held annually since 2018, each edition of the festival pays tribute to the glorious history of Moldova. Since 2021, the grounds of Saint Elijah’s Castle in the Voivodeship of Cărbuna transform into a medieval village for the day—inviting participants on a journey through time.

Festival highlights include:

• Local product tastings: Traditional dishes and select wines from the region.
• Folk and modern performances: Local artists, folk ensembles, and contemporary bands create a vibrant and festive atmosphere.
• Activities for the whole family: Interactive artisan workshops and engaging experiences for children and adults alike.
• Legends and tales of Moldova: The symbolic crowning of the Goddess of Cărbuna, a fertility figure from the Cucuteni-Tripolye culture, brought to life in a captivating ritual. A spectacular procession honors the emblem of the black bull and revives a living legend.
